Do you know the phrase responsible for most of the failures in Swiss e-commerce over the last ten years?

The real phrase is:
"LET'S START SELLING ONLINE IN TICINO AND SEE HOW IT GOES!"
How does it go? Badly. Here's how.
Below, I'll briefly outline a few issues caused by this type of strategy:
- Very low traffic volumes.
- The average age of the population is a bit high.
- Before COVID, residents had little inclination to shop online.
- A negative Cost/Revenue forecast (costs outweigh revenues).
- Fair or unfair competition that makes the market more challenging.
- The geographical area is beautiful, but it's small. Expand your business!
A web agency should tell you these and many other things up front. So be careful when you see offers like "E-commerce for 999 CHF, all included!"
