What topics should be avoided on LinkedIn?

Target: All
A quick refresher in just a few seconds.

Let's start by reminding ourselves of the reasons to join LinkedIn:

  • To bring value to yourself and your business
  • To increase career opportunities
  • To hire collaborators
  • To build partnerships
  • To sell (though this is slightly disrupting the peaceful atmosphere)
  • To build a valuable community
  • To raise brand awareness
  • To engage in educational marketing
  • To launch a project
  • To gain training (e-learning)
  • To stay informed (your posts and comments enrich me)

These are all valuable points, and it's rare to find them all on one platform.

These activities relate to our professional lives, and it's well-known that in business, it's preferable to keep specific thoughts to ourselves, especially concerning politics, religion, sports fandom, etc.

These days, our focus on socio-political-economic topics is very high.

In your opinion, how appropriate is it to share personal thoughts and propose solutions?

Is LinkedIn the right platform for that? Should we pretend nothing is happening and stick to our editorial calendar without speaking up?

If you've read this far, let me know your thoughts.

Even though I struggle to hold back sometimes, I still believe that on a platform like this, the image of the professional and the company they represent are closely tied, and both should be protected from unnecessary prejudices caused by a post's impulsiveness.
